Some are from my personal experiences, from my observations and from my collective readings

Here, we explore the interconnectedness of art, holistic approaches, and Vedic living not as separate disciplines, but as harmonious expressions of a beautiful and elevated life.

Whether it's the healing rhythm of music, the relaxing depth of creativity, the wisdom of Ayurveda, or the timeless truths of Vedic philosophy; each post is crafted to inspire, inform, and ignite the divine spark within. This blog is for my friends, family members and anyone longing to live with more loveliness, balance, and purpose.

Holistic Wellness in a vedic way of living

Holistic Wellness in the Vedic Sense: Returning to the Pure Self

Why do we fall ill, is it just a physical change or it has something to do with our nature, our own prakriti given by Ishavara (God)! Well it has lot more to do with emotional health.

In the Vedic vision, true wellness is not limited to physical health or mental peace; it is the complete alignment of the body, mind, and soul with one's true nature, or Prakriti (प्रकृति). At the heart of this alignment lies a pure, honest, and open heart. The Vedas and Upanishads guide us to peel off the layers of false identity, ego, and societal conditioning; to remove the masks of the "ordinary self" and to live from the core of authenticity. I know, it is not that easy to get into, I would say it takes several years or may be births some time..!

A pure heart is like a clear mirror, it reflects divine light. Our body is temple and the heart is asan (आसन) where Ishavra Sadashiv (ईश्वर सदाशिव) should live. When our heart is clean and untouched by greed, comparison, and illusion, it becomes the source of divine energy, divine vibration like Kailash mansarovar (कैलाश मानसरोवर) where parmeshvar – God resides eternally.

  • True and forever love
  • Marital bliss that is sacred      and eternal.
  • Robust health and vitality
  • Wise choices in career and      relationships
  • Children who embody      intelligence, calm, and compassion
  • Unshakeable happiness that      doesn’t depend on quantifiable wealth

Spiritual wealth is the foundation of true health; a healthy body, relationship, career, kids; health in terms of everything. A calm mind, a pure heart, and inner contentment that no amount of money or power can buy. When the soul is at peace, the body flourishes, and life flows with grace and purpose. Unlike material riches, spiritual wealth stays with us beyond circumstances.

The Vedic seers remind us that the essence of life is not found in acquiring bigger houses or fatter bank accounts, but in realizing and living with our honest self. When we connect to our Prakriti, our natural constitution and purpose, we begin to live wisely, effortlessly choosing what nurtures our body and heart. Do we all have a same level of prakriti.I say no. Prakriti is the reason of being into this earth. It is the core cause of our existence. This unique cause has a potential – an energy. That unique yet infinite potential of energy has to be realized compulsorily, Individual has different level of energy and hence different potential. ‘I’is the Identity of purush given by its unique prakriti. This realization is called awakening consciousness (चेतना – Purush - पुरुष). Purush is the divine consciousness. Thus, in order to be in harmony, that is complete robust health; our presence has to be aligned with the nature-prakriti and our divine consciousness purush,

Let’s understand the fundamental more clearly.

As the Bhagavad Gita says:

“स्वभावस्तु प्रवर्तते”
(Svabhāvas tu pravartate)
– "One acts according to one's own nature."

And in the Samkhya Philosophy (सांख्य दर्शन, ),  Prakriti is described with her three foundational gunas:

  • Sattva – purity, clarity, wisdom
  • Rajas – passion, activity, desire
  • Tamas – inertia, ignorance, darkness

"प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः।"
(Bhagavad Gita 3.27)
“All actions are performed by the gunas of Prakriti.”

When we understand these gunas within us, we gain the power to balance them through conscious living through art, yoga, meditation, service, and surrender.

In Vedic life, wellness is not achieved, it is remembered. It is already within us, like a lotus waiting to bloom. The moment we begin to cleanse the heart, embrace honesty, and let go of falsehood, we begin to rise into our highest human potential.

That is the Vedic path to holistic wellness

I say Spiritual health is wealth

Live purely. Love truly. Align with your Prakriti.

Love and regards,

Pooja Mehta
